Unit 241 covers the Arrow Canyon Range and surrounding desert escarpments in Clark County north of Las Vegas, a classic desert bighorn habitat with limestone cliffs, narrow canyons, and guzzler-dependent herds. We approach Unit 241 as a short-drive hunt from Las Vegas with strong glassing from the BLM road network.

Where to Find Bighorn in Unit 241

The Arrow Canyon Range is a narrow north-south limestone ridge running along the eastern edge of Coyote Spring Valley.

Arrow Canyon Wilderness Core

The 27,530-acre Arrow Canyon Wilderness protects the central rims and cliff bands where mature rams hold. We access the east side via BLM two-track off US-93 and the west side from Coyote Spring Valley roads.

Las Vegas Range Transition

Rams move between Arrow Canyon and the adjacent Las Vegas Range to the south. Low saddles between the ranges are worth first-light glassing, especially after monsoon moisture reaches the area.

Guzzler Glassing

NDOW's water-development program anchors Unit 241 bighorn. We glass from knobs that cover two or three drinkers at once for maximum daylight productivity.

Morning thermals pull downhill; we glass east-facing rims at first light. Afternoon winds flip and we swing to west-facing faces for evening glassing.

Cliff-Band Stalks

Arrow Canyon rams bed in narrow cliff bands with short escape runs. Once we pin a shooter, we pick a stalking line that keeps the wind and rock cover on our side and plan for a shot between 200 and 450 yards.
