Where to Find Pronghorn in Unit 066
Unit 066 pronghorn concentrate on the Paradise Valley floor and the foothills on both sides of the valley. The Santa Rosas rise sharply on the east but pronghorn use the bench country on the flanks, not the timbered crest.
Paradise Valley Floor
Paradise Valley is the core habitat — broad sage flats at 4,400-5,000 ft with excellent sight lines. The BLM road grid off SR-290 provides thorough access. Bucks summer and early-fall on the flats, then shift to the foothills as weather turns.
Santa Rosa Range Foothills
The western foothills of the Santa Rosas (the Paradise Valley side) hold mature bucks in the bench and bajada country at 4,800-5,500 ft. Glass up and down the alluvial fans from the valley road.
Martin Creek / Lye Creek Benches
The bench country around Martin Creek and Lye Creek at the north end of the valley is a transition zone — pronghorn use it heavily in morning and evening when weather is moderate.
