Bucks summer in the aspen and mahogany high country of the Santa Rosas above 8,000 ft — the basins off Santa Rosa Peak and the drainages flanking Hinkey Summit. The Bloody Run Hills and Osgood Mountains to the southeast hold lower-density but accessible herds with good BLM road coverage. As rifle opens, bucks push to the pinyon-juniper shoulders of the ranges.
